An investigation of the relationship between the emergence of disordered eating and the history of weight and dieting in obese youngsters finds no significant differences between sub-samples with regard to weight and dieting history. These findings suggest that a developmental pathway from weight problems through dieting to binge eating is found to be plausible for a subgroup of obese children.
